Home › Home Decoration in Jammu
Ask any Jammu family that has hosted a wedding and they'll tell you the house gets busy first. Relatives start coming in a week before the date. The dholak sessions happen in the evenings, and the Mehndi is often held right there in the aangan. By the time the baraat sets off, the home has already seen four or five functions.
We've been doing home decoration for wedding in Jammu since 1998. Our team brings its own lights, flowers and fabric, sets up at your place, and comes back to remove it all once the wedding is done.
Here's what we do under our service package for home decoration in Jammu!

House Lighting!
This is usually the first thing families ask about. For house light decoration for wedding in Jammu, we light the front wall and gate, and most people also want the balconies and terrace railing done. Warm white is still the favourite. A few families ask for coloured strings on the terrace, and almost everyone wants a marigold arch at the entrance.
One thing we never skip: our electrician checks the meter load before work begins. The lights often run for a full week, so the wiring has to be safe.
Living Room and Aangan!
A lot happens inside a Dogra home before the wedding day, and our living room decoration for wedding in Jammu is planned with that in mind. For Mehndi and Haldi, we put up a flower or fabric backdrop and lay out gaddas and bolsters so the elders can sit comfortably. We keep one corner clear because that's where most of the family photos end up being taken.
During the Ghara Gharoli, the ladies of the house walk out together singing. We decorate the ghara for this and light the path from the door so nobody has trouble with the steps in the evening.
Home decoration on marriage in Jammu doesn't end with the wedding itself. When the bride comes home, there's a fresh toran at the door, rangoli at the entrance and petals along the way in.

Rooms, Surprises and Proposals!
We get plenty of requests that have nothing to do with weddings. Room decoration in Jammu for birthdays, anniversaries and welcome home parties is a regular part of our work, and so is the couple's room after the wedding.
A surprise room decoration in Jammu normally means balloons, fairy lights, LED candles, rose petals and a board with a name or short message. We use LED candles instead of real ones, which is safer in a closed room.
Proposal decoration in Jammu has picked up a lot in the past few years. Rooftops are the most requested spot. Let us know how long your partner will be away and we'll plan the setup to finish well before they get back.
Wedding Season in Jammu!
Most of our wedding bookings here come between November and February. It gets dark by six and the evenings are cold, so many functions move indoors or up to a covered terrace. Indoor spaces are smaller, which means the décor has to be planned more carefully. Outside, we use weatherproof joints because the winter fog can affect open connections.
Many families also have relatives who plan a Vaishno Devi darshan around the wedding and end up staying longer. In that case, we can put the lights up a few days early and leave them on until everyone has left.
Is your main function at a hall on Residency Road, Canal Road or the Narwal bypass? Share the theme with us. Keeping the home colours close to the venue colours makes the wedding album look much more complete.

Areas We Cover!
Our regular bookings come from Gandhi Nagar, Trikuta Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Janipur, Channi Himmat, Bakshi Nagar, Roop Nagar, Talab Tillo, Sainik Colony and Nanak Nagar. We go to Akhnoor, Samba and Katra too.
Why Families Choose Kauvery Events?
We've been part of Dogra weddings for over 25 years, so we know what each ritual needs without being told twice. The lights, drapes and props all belong to us, and our own trained staff handle the electrical work. If the muhurat is early, we're there earlier. After the wedding, we take down everything we put up.
Pricing!
We don't work with fixed packages, since every house is different. Lighting only the front of a single-storey home costs far less than lighting a three-storey house on all sides for a week.
Flower choice changes the budget as well. Marigold is the most affordable. Roses and orchids cost more. Flower prices in Jammu rise between November and February, and our dates fill up then, so it's worth booking three or four weeks ahead. There's no travel charge inside Jammu city, though Akhnoor, Samba and Katra may carry a small one.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. How much does house lighting for a wedding cost in Jammu?
That depends on how big the house is, which lights you choose and how many nights you need them. Send us a photo of the front of your home and we'll give you the exact amount.
2. Can you set up a surprise proposal room in Jammu?
Yes, we can. We've done proposals at homes, on rooftops and in hotels around Jammu, and we work around your timing so the surprise stays a surprise.
3. How long does home decoration take?
A surprise room takes two to three hours. Full house lighting along with the entrance and living room takes about a day, so we prefer to finish a day before the first function.
4. Is the wiring safe if the lights stay on for a week?
Yes. Our electrician checks the meter load before work begins. Outdoors we use weatherproof joints, because winter fog can affect open connections. Our own trained staff handle all the electrical work.
5. Do you remove the decoration after the wedding?
Yes. Once the functions are over, our team comes back and takes down everything we put up. If relatives are staying on, we can leave the lights up a few extra days.
