Haldi & Mehndi Decoration Services
Kauvery Events is a Jammu-based decoration team, working since 1998, that sets up haldi and mehndi decoration at homes, terraces, lawns and banquet halls across 10 cities, with swings, chowkis and backdrops made in our own workshop.
Turmeric on the floor, henna drying for hours, relatives everywhere. That’s a real haldi and mehndi, and the décor has to cope with all of it. You’ll see the complete quote before you pay a rupee.

Haldi vs Mehndi Decoration: Colours, Props and Setup
Short answer? Haldi is yellow and over quickly. Mehndi is colourful and the function needs vibes, so seating matters more. We curate spaces in a comfortable way where people can have fun together according to different themes.
Haldi
Colours
Yellow, marigold orange, white
Flowers
Genda strings and balls, a little mogra
Props
Brass urli, matkas, umbrellas, phoolon ki chadar
Seating
A low chowki for the bride or groom
Floor
Washable mats, waterproof sheets
Mehndi
Colours
Green, pink, orange, pastels
Flowers
Roses, marigold, whatever’s in season
Props
Jhula, lanterns, bright umbrellas
Seating
Gaddas, floor cushions, lounge sofas
Floor
Durries and rugs
Lots of families keep both functions on the same day now. We’re happy with that. One base setup goes up in the morning, and after the haldi we change the drapes, swap a few props and bring in the swing. Less cost for you, one less trip for us.
Our Haldi & Mehndi Decoration Services
There are three ways we usually work. Choose one, or ask us to combine them.

Haldi Decoration
Mostly marigolds, a chowki dressed up properly, and a floor that won’t be ruined by turmeric. See our haldi and mehndi decoration in Jammu.

Mehndi Decoration
For the long afternoon of henna, dholki and gossip. Think swings, cushions, lanterns. Browse real setups from recent events.

Haldi & Mehndi at Home
A drawing room or a chhat can work really well. We don’t drill or nail anything, so your paint survives. Read about our home decoration service.

Popular Haldi & Mehndi Themes
Ask ten families and most will end up choosing one of these five.

01
Marigold
The safe favourite. Genda everywhere, yellow fabric, a brass urli with floating petals. Since haldi is usually in the morning, the colour pops nicely in sunlight.
02
Pastel
Blush, mint, sometimes lilac. Roses instead of marigolds. Some brides find the full yellow look too loud, and this is what they go for.
03
Boho
Cane chairs, pampas grass, macramé and lots of fairy lights. It’s the kind of henna party decor that looks best after sunset on a terrace.
04
Rajasthani
Bandhani, leheriya, mirror work cushions, a few kathputlis hanging around and bright chhatris overhead. If you’ve seen asian mehndi decorations at weddings abroad and liked that loud, festive feel, this is close.
05
Floral Swing
Just one big idea: a jhula covered in flowers for the bride. She sits there while her mehndi is done, and somehow every cousin needs a photo on it too. We also make fresh flower jaimalas for the wedding day.
How Much Does Haldi & Mehndi Decoration Cost?
Three things decide it, mainly: the size of the space, real or artificial flowers, and how many props you want.
At Home
Usually includes
Backdrop, chowki, floor décor, marigold strings
Price: custom quote on WhatsApp
Terrace
Usually includes
Backdrop, seating, umbrellas, string lights
Price: custom quote on WhatsApp
Peak season dates cost a bit more. Evening functions need lighting, which adds to it. On the other hand, sharing one setup between haldi and mehndi brings the total down quite a lot. If you found us by typing haldi mehndi decoration near me, the quickest way is a WhatsApp message with your date and venue. We’ll send back an itemised quote.
Banquet or Lawn
Usually includes
Stage, swing, entry décor, photo corner, lights
Price: custom quote on WhatsApp
Tip: swings get booked first in wedding season. If you want one, tell us early.

Why Choose Kauvery Events for Haldi & Mehndi Decoration?
A few reasons families keep coming back to us.
Since 1998
We’ve been through a lot of wedding seasons. Not much surprises us now.
Our Own Workshop
The swings and backdrops you see are made and kept by us. We don’t scramble to hire them at the last minute.
Flowers Checked That Morning
If marigolds look tired, they stay behind.
On Time, Then a Full Cleanup
Décor is ready before guests arrive. Later, every sheet and petal goes back in our van.
Clear Pricing
Each item and its cost is on the quote. That’s what you pay.
Kauvery Events was founded in 1998 by Rahul Malhotra, who still oversees our projects. Fresh flowers come from the mandi on the morning of your function, and our karigars build every swing and backdrop in our own workshop.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between haldi and mehndi decoration?
Haldi decoration is mostly yellow and built for one quick, messy ritual, so we focus on the chowki, marigolds and washable floors. Mehndi goes on much longer. People sit for hours waiting for henna to dry, which is why mehndi setups have swings, cushions and more colour.
Which colours are used for haldi and mehndi décor?
Haldi almost always means yellow and marigold orange, sometimes with white. Mehndi gives you more freedom. Green, pink and orange are the traditional picks, though a lot of brides now ask for pastels. Doing both? Keep one colour common, and the photos will match.
Can haldi and mehndi be done in the same setup?
Can haldi be done at home?
Sure, and many families actually prefer it. A drawing room, courtyard or terrace is enough. We bring a smaller backdrop, a decorated chowki and waterproof covers for the floor. Nothing is nailed or drilled, so your walls look exactly the same once we leave.
Yes, we do this often. One backdrop and seating area stays, and after the haldi we change the drapes, flowers and a few props. It takes about one to two hours. Guests walk back in and it feels like a different space, which is the fun part.
How do you protect the venue from haldi stains?
How early should we book haldi and mehndi decorators?
Usually two to three weeks is enough. For wedding season dates, try to book six weeks ahead or even earlier. The good dates go quickly, and booking early means the swing and flowers you have in mind are still free.
First waterproof sheets, then washable mats over them. Sofas and anything nearby get covered as well. We also hang flowers slightly away from the walls, because turmeric splashes further than you’d think. When the function ends, our team removes all the covers carefully.
How long before the function do you set up?
For a home function, we reach about three to five hours before guests. Venues with a stage and swing take longer, roughly five to eight hours. Fresh flowers are always the last thing we put up, so they’re still fresh for the first photos.
